Terry Fox Barbeque

Our Terry Fox barbeque is on Thursday, September 29th. We are looking for assistance from 10:45- 12:30 in cooking the hotdogs for the students. Please call the school at (204) 888-1990 if you are available to assist. Thank you!

Spirit Week next week and we have a bunch of fun activities planned. Each day next week we will have a theme

Monday-PJ day wear your best pjs and don’t forget your stuffies

Tuesday-backwards day

Wednesday-wacky Wednesday  anything goes be as silly as you want to be

Thursday future day

Friday blast day dress up in blast colours to help support your team in the gym blast

 

Each day we will have prizes for students who dress up. There will be best costume, most original, and many more. There will also be a draw you can enter for each day that you participate. The draw will be done on Friday during our first gym Blast. We encourage all students to participate

 

There will be other events throughout the week so ensure you listen to announcements.

Get into the Bearcat state of mind!!  Next week is our school spirit week and we are encouraging ALL students to participate as much as possible... There will be prizes!

Monday:  Pajama Day - wear your fun p.j.'s or comfy lounge wear to school
Tuesday:  Backwards Day- wear everything backwards today
Wednesday:  Wacky Wednesday-  wear your wackiest hair and clothes today
Thursday:  Future Day- wear how you see yourself in the future- either as a career, or future fashion
Friday:  BLAST Colour Day- wear as much as you can that corresponds to your BLAST colours

Bruce Bearcat Clothing

We are happy to announce that once again Bruce Middle School will be offering Bruce clothing to our students and staff. These items will be used for phys.ed classes as well as options for students to wear during our many extra-curricular activities such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, rugby, track etc. We are offering a new and exciting way to order your child’s clothing this year. If you are choosing to order clothes you can now go online at http://bruce2016.itemorder.com and order directly from Homerun Sports. Delivery will still be to Bruce and hopefully we will receive these items by mid-October. You will be able to size your child at school to ensure you are ordering the correct items. If you prefer to order at the school with a cheque that is also an option as well. This year everyone will have the choice of Dri-fit or cotton shirts in both long and short sleeve options. All short and long sleeve shirts will have your child’s last name on the back. Sweaters are also available however no last names can be put on the back.  There are two colour options this year, black and grey. We will be taking orders until September 23rd. If you are interested in purchasing Bruce clothing there will be a table set up during triads, once triads are over you can order clothing from Mrs. Goetz. Please check out our online store to see all the items available this year!

 

 

Ski Trip

Tentative plans for the school ski trip is a day excursion to Holiday Mtn on March 10. More details to follow.

Winter Camp

Winter Camp this school year is planned for Feb 8-10, Wednesday to Friday.  The cost will be about $225 and the camp is geared towards grade sevens. Final cost and more details to come.

Welcome back to school! I really hope you've enjoyed time with your family and friends over the summer. Now that the school year is upon us, I'm so excited to begin creating new music together with you!

I have been busy preparing the materials and resources you will be using in band class to help you learn. Fees for method books, band shirts and instrument rentals should be taken care of when you come for triad conferences. Please come to the band room to pay (cheque or cash) for any item(s) that you need:

Gr. 6 students - method book ($12), uniform shirt ($12), and instrument ($120, if you've made arrangements to rent from the school)

Gr. 7 students - method book ($12) and instrument ($120, if you've made arrangements to rent from the school)

Gr. 8 students - instrument ($120, if renting from the school)

Grade 7 & 8 students should still have their music shirts from last year. If your shirt is lost, please purchase another. Grade 8 students will use their method books from last year which they should still have. If your book is lost, another will need to be purchased.
