At Bruce Middle School we've decided to go paperless with our newsletter.

There are two advantages to this:

- The saving of paper is a savings in costs and more importantly another step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Dear Parent/Guardian,


As part of our involvement with the True North Foundation and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy, our hockey academy participants have been invited to a University of Manitoba Bison’s hockey game on the evening of Friday, February 3rd, 2017.  This game will take the place of regularly scheduled Friday night hockey academy. 

 

School bus transportation will be provided for staff and students to and from the Max Bell Centre from Bruce Middle School.  The game begins at 7:00pm, and our bus pickup at Bruce Middle School will be 6:10pm.  Since February 3rd is an inservice day.  We are asking students to return to the school by 6:00pm for attendance, and to ensure timely departure of the bus.    Please note that the bus will not wait longer than 6:15 for anyone who is late.  Return pickup at Bruce Middle School will be 9:30pm, provided the game does not go into overtime.    
 
Dinner of a hotdog, chips and drink will be provided to students at the game, and the concessions will be open for purchasing of other snacks.  Please let the school know in advance if a veggie dog is preferred.
 

We ask that if your child is interested in attending the event, please have the attached permission form signed and returned to the office no later than Thursday, February 2nd.  Spots will be granted on a first come, first served status and there is only 23 spots available in total.
 
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at the school for clarification.
 
Also the WJHA will be taking our kids to skate outdoors at Assiniboia West outdoor hockey
rink this Friday January 27th. We will be leaving Bruce at 3:30pm and will skate from 4-5pm(approx.). From there we will be bused back to school for supper which will be approx. 5:15pm. There will be no classes following supper and students can leave following their eating time. Please note you do not need a field trip form for this Friday’s event the form is for the Bison game on February 3rd, 2017.
