Your News... In Real-Time!

At Bruce Middle School we've decided to go paperless with our newsletter.

There are two advantages to this:

- The saving of paper is a savings in costs and more importantly another step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

- By offering news in this format, we can now provide our community with real-time news as it happens, instead of waiting until the end of the month to send out information.

2016/2017 Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey

Our school has been invited to participate in the 2016/2017 Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey. This is the only survey conducted nationally to monitor smoking, alcohol and drug use behaviours of Canadian youth and also asks questions about bullying, mental health and school connectedness. CSTADS is funded by Health Canada and in Manitoba will be implemented by CancerCare Manitoba.

On April 13, 2017, students in grades 7 and 8 with parental permission will be asked to take part in the survey.

This is a paper survey and will be conducted in period 1 on April 13, 2017. The survey takes approx 30 minutes to complete. Information will be provided to classroom teachers in advance to prepare for survey administration.

If you do not wish your child to participate please call the project coordinator, Cyndi Fraser, at 1-888-827-9702 by April 12, 2017.

For more information about the project and access to copies of the questionnaires visitcstads.ca.
